Youth

Youth Christian Education Classes are held every Sunday morning between 9:30 and 10:25. Youth delve deeper into the life and teachings of Jesus and explore what it means to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

Youth Group is for those in Grades 6-12. The NBMC Youth Group meets twice a month for games, fellowship, small group time, and discussion. Together, we seek what it means to be followers of Jesus. Additionally, each month the Youth Group participates in a fellowship activity such as a hike, a lock-in, a scavenger hunt, a camping trip, a cooking night, etc. Acknowledging the importance of service in our faith, youth also participate in multiple service days throughout the year, and a special service and mission project is planned for each summer.

Junior Youth Mentorship is for those in Grades 6-8. Each junior youth is paired with an adult mentor for these three years. Each month, the junior youth and the mentors gather for a Junior Youth Mentor Meet-Up, filled with games, discussion, and a time to connect with mentors one-on-one. Mentors spend time with youth, talking about  about faith, church, community, and the living of life.

Leadership Crew is for those in Grades 9-12. Leadership Crew meets twice a month for connection, deeper discussion about what it is to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, and time to plan for the Youth Group. The youth in Leadership Crew take on key roles within the Youth Group as small group leaders, discussion leaders, game leaders, as well as working to plan the events of the year.

Annual Youth Retreats and Bi-Annual Mennonite Church USA Conventions give the Youth a chance to interact with youth in the broader Mennonite Church as they all grow together in Christ.

Membership Classes are available for young people seeking to be baptized.
